At KMTC, a Diploma in clinical medicine and surgery takes three years to complete and at the end of the course, graduates embark on a mandatory internship before licensing by the Clinical Officers Council of Kenya to practice Clinical medicine in Kenya.
The course covers modules in pathology, human anatomy, biochemistry, microbiology, community health, surgery, reproductive health, paediatrics and child health, health systems management, and reproductive health.
Career options include: clinician in private and public health facilities, private practice (Self-employment), Researcher in institutes like KEMRI, and program officers and coordinators in NGO’s and other programs.
