Only fifteen engineering universities in Kenya are accredited to offer engineering courses by the Engineering Board of Kenya (EBK).

This article will look at all public and private universities that have received the go-ahead from EBK to offer specific engineering courses.

To become a graduate engineer in Kenya, you need an engineering degree from a university accredited by EBK to offer the course. Otherwise, you will not be eligible for registration with the body.

The Technical University of Kenya has one of the best engineering schools in Kenya. The school is accredited to offer the following engineering courses.

  • B.Eng. – (Biosystems & Environmental Engineering)
  • B.Eng. – (Electrical & Electronics Engineering

Muranga University School of Engineering courses

As of 2024, Muranga University has been accredited by EBK to offer BSc. in Electrical & Electronics Engineering. The school is also one of the few universities that offers software engineering degree in Kenya.

Note that software engineering is not regulated by the Engineering Board of Kenya.

Strathmore University Engineering courses

Strathmore University is the only private university on this list. It’s accredited to offer BSc. – (Electrical & Electronics Engineering).

Machakos University school of engineering.

The Machakos University School of Engineering offers the following courses: BSc. – Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.

South Eastern Kenya University Engineering courses

The university is accredited to offer BSc Mechanical Engineering, BSc Civil Engineering, and BSc Agricultural Engineering.

Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology Engineering courses
